Text Box: Conservation through Captive Breeding

 

 

Some initial aims are:-

· To complete an inventory of all Ibis species held in captivity; names and addresses of owners will be withheld where requested).

· To initiate breeding programmes, particularly for rarer species and for those species whose numbers held in European or British collections are few.

· To encourage and support people wishing to breed Ibis by way of introducing them to those with knowledge and expertise.

· Keep members informed on all things ‘Threskiornithidae’ of topical interest through Aviornis Magazines.

· Assemble a photographic databank on Ibis species, their developmental stages, avicultural requirements, behaviour in confinement and in the wild.

· All Aviornis Members can sign up for free to join The Ibis Club.
